As surely as the river runs into the sea

This is my cry: this is my please
To turn my people back to me.
Could there ever be a better time
Then at the time of their heinous crime?
Surely you must know
No protection comes from below,
But I set my angels guard over you
The only safe guard, you know it is trueNations will come and they will go
But my word remains forever you know.
So do not treasure up your goods,
You’ll find yourselves in a lonely woods.Surely you are blessed to give
My river flowing through you like a sieve.
You have built your houses high and wide
And you are full of earthly pride.
You boast about your earthly wealth
Not recognizing the enemy’s stealth
You joy is found when you give
And I’ll bring you home to me to live.Your wealth will seem so very small
When you see the blessings I have for all.
Look to me I am the answer it is true.
Oh my children I am so in love with you!
Don’t treat me like you treat your mother.
Surely you must know there is no other
God to keep you in his arms
And to keep you from the devil’s harm.
